If you order a free, non-binding domain pre-registration, we will ask you to provide a credit card if you do not have one on file already. We ask for this information only to help us verify your account. You will not be charged for your non-binding pre-registration order.
A free, non-binding domain pre-registration acts only as an expression of interest in that domain while we await its price and release date. If you choose to confirm your domain pre-registration later on, we will subsequently attempt to register that domain for you when it becomes available. If we succeed, then your payment method on file will be charged for your pre-order. We will contact you by email when it's time to confirm your pre-order if you still want it.
Like many other merchants, we may place a temporary authorization hold for under $1.00 on your credit card when you enter it for the first time. This temporary hold is only to validate the card, and your bank will clear the hold from your bank statement after a short time--typically within five to ten business days.
